Unlike so many blogs, Bim and Bam is devoted entirely to this and that. Here you’ll find meditations and lively debate on the things that matter most to the general public, especially those members of the general public who are either specialists or laypeople. Bim and Bam welcomes all modes and tenors of expression, but draws a line — usually a thin, grey, fuzzy line — at equivocation.

Bim and Bam have had lives other than those the two parakeets after which it is named ended years ago — both Yellowman and Toots & the Maytals sing good songs about them. In Trinidadian and West Indian parlance, Bim and Bam means something like two peas in a pod. It also means usesless, discarded things: flotsam and jetsam.
